Adopt a GSD

Rex

Rex is approximately 6 – 7 years old, he is an entire GSD cross.  Rex is vaccinated, wormed and flea treated up to date.

Rex is a lively chap for his age and loves his exercise, his recall and obedience is good, he gets on well with other dogs and is suitable to live in a household with other dogs. He has a very sweet and genuine nature.

If you think you can offer this lovely boy a home, please contact us.

One of our members has objected to us using Devon GSD Rescue Charity funds to occasionally help GSD cross breeds such as Rex.  Two other members have therefore offered to sponsor Rex and Evie so that none of the Devon GSD Rescue Charity funds are involved with these two unfortunate dogs.

Rex has now been found a new home.

13th February 2011

Rex died today after being in his new home for only a few days.  This is so sad for Pat as she was looking forward to a life of joy and love with this wonderful little dog.  We will never know what had happened to him before he came into Devon GSD Rescue, but while he was with us he had nothing but love.

The following is a tribute to Rex which was posted on Facebook by Chris who collected Rex and Evie for the Charity.

“God looked around his garden and found an empty place.
He then looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful he always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering he knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb.
So he closed your weary eyelids and whispered 'Peace be Thine'.
It broke our hearts to lose you but you didn't go alone
for part of us went with you the day God called you home.

RIP Rex. Run free, lovely boy xxx "
