Adopt a GSD
Ben
Ben is 6 year old castrated male who has come into us with a
chronic skin condition, resulting in significant hair loss. It
is possible his coat will not grow back in the most seriously
affected areas. This poor chap has been left to suffer for a
number of years without veterinary help. Our vets have now
been treating Ben for a number of weeks and his skin has vastly
improved.
Ben will need ongoing veterinary treatment for some time to come and
may always need medical aid to keep his condition under control.
Therefore Ben will go out on assisted adoption, this means that
DGSDR will pay for any medication with regards to his skin
condition.
Ben has been through a lot in his life but remains very sweet
natured, playful and a joy to know. He is currently residing
in kennels but is to go into a foster home shortly where he can be
fully assessed. We will update as more information becomes
available.
If you think you can offer this special boy his forever home and
help him on his road to recovery please contact us.
Update from his foster home:
Ben is very lively and loveable, wanting cuddles and back
scratching all the time, He is in a foster home with 4 other
dogs of all sizes and accepts them as if they have all grown up
together. He is not keen on cats.
He travels well and is wormed and will be fully inoculated at time
of adoption.

An update from Ben's new owners:
"Ben has settled in well and he is already making his mark in the town. People are saying he's a lovely dog. In the short time we have had him people have said about the difference there is in him already. He's still receiving veterinary treatment for his skin condition."
