Dear
Firstly a big thank you for your generous donation to George's Fund,
we have now reached our target. Please read below for an
update on George's condition.
When George was first seen by a vet, the prognosis was he had
cataracts in both eyes and would require an operation as soon as
possible. He was then seen by Consultant Ophthalmologist, Mrs
Kathy Ward, who prescribed eye drops and arranged to see him again
in six weeks. On her next visit she confirmed that his eye
sight had got no worse. Mrs Ward said that the success rate of
the operation would only be 15% - not very good odds. Mrs Ward
recommended that we should continue with the eye drops and she would
see him again in twelve weeks. She will continue seeing him at
regular intervals (probably for the rest of his life and as he is
only ten months old that will hopefully be for a long time).
Each visit costs £80 and the eye drops are £18 every three weeks.
Even though Mrs Ward does not want to operate at present, the
treatment which is ongoing is very expensive, and Mrs Ward is not
ruling out the need for an operation in the future, so we must
ensure we have the money available.

information on the work of the Charity.
Thank you once again for your generosity.
Yours sincerely,
